      2016 Skoda Superb teased; to unveil on Feb 17

      After revealing sketches and interiors, Skoda, the Czech car manufacturer, has revealed the official teaser images of the much-awaited next generation 2016 Skoda Superb saloon. The saloon will officially be unveiled on February 17, 2015 in Prague, Czech Republic.

      The teaser images revealed today shows the top-view, front fascia and newly styled grille. Featuring the company’s new design language, the Superb saloon shares its styling cues with the VisionC concept. Based on the extended MQB platform, the new sedan shares most of its parts from the new Passat saloon.

      Previous image of the sedan revealed the interiors of the new generation Superb saloon, which largely resembles the new Volkswagen B8 Passat. It is equipped with advanced features like touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control, dual-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, multi-functional steering wheel, auto park assist, etc.

      The new generation Skoda Superb saloon is claimed to be 20mm longer than the previous model, while the wheelbase have been extended by 80mm. The increase in wheelbase results into a spacious cabin and an extra luggage space. It is around 75kg lighter than the previous model, which in return offers an enhanced performance and efficiency. The sedan offers a high luggage carrying capacity of 625-litres, which can be further extended by up to 1,760-litres by folding the rear seats. The new Superb sedan will be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel options. Four-cylinder turbocharged petrol and diesel engines will be on offer.
