Czech auto giant, Skoda has officially released an image of new generation Fabia hatchback prior to its public exhibition slated during 2014 Paris Motor Show in October. It has also been learnt that the company will commence production of new Fabia hatchback this effective end of this month. Fabia’s production will be carried out at the company’s primary manufacturing plant located in Mlada Boleslav. The hatchback is slated to be rolled out by end of this year in European markets, while India launch is not certain. Skoda is presently focusing on Rapid and segment above that in domestic market.
The company has also confirmed that production at its all three manufacturing units has resumed after a two week long halt. The two week long shut down was done to carry forward regular maintenance and revamping activities. Besides this, around 40 industrial engineering companies worked to modify assembly lines and paint shop at its manufacturing units.
Skoda has also hinted at its plan to initiate the biggest model campaign for Fabia, the company claims that this would be the biggest campaign ever conducted by the company for any of its models.
The engine configuration of new Skoda Fabia is claimed to be 17 per cent more efficient that the ones powering its predecessor. Skoda has also equipped some fuel saving features like Start/Stop system and brake energy recovery system as a standard fitment across all models of new Fabia.
