Kawasaki, the Japanese two-wheeler maker is working on the updated Z250 sportsbike for 2015. The company is planning to add ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) and Slipper Clutch to the Z250 bike as standard features. Currently, the ABS and slipper clutch equipped Z250 is offered in the Japanese two-wheeler market, but the 2015 model will be launched in several South East Asian markets from 2015 onwards.
The new Anti-Lock Braking System and Slipper Clutch will further enhance the overall braking system of the bike by avoiding wheel-locking and skidding on panic braking. The current model is priced at Rs. 2.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), but the addition of ABS and Slipper Clutch will make it pricier. Currently, the sportsbike is 60,000 cheaper than the Ninja 300, which comes equipped with the Slipper Clutch as standard.
The Kawasaki Z250 sportsbike is propelled by a 249cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine that is capable of producing a top power output of 32PS at 11,000rpm and a peak torque of 21Nm at 10,000rpm. This engine is clubbed to a six-speed gearbox which sends the power to the rear wheel. It is equipped with 37mm telescopic forks suspensions upfront while the rear gets monoshock suspension setup.
