Mr. Kazuhide Yasui, Director of Mugen division unveiled 2014 Honda City Mugen edition on April 23rd in Philippines. However, the unveiling event was held for the enthusiasts to have a look at the vehicle, official launch will take place between July and September this year. Honda Cars Philippines Inc is a renowned Mugen product distributor across the globe after its home market Japan and that is why City Mugen was revealed in Philippines. The Mugen City is conceived on the top-of-the-line trim VX, of the sedan.
The current prototype shown in Philippines flaunted exterior cosmetic touch ups. A comprehensively tweaked version, carrying engine, suspension, brakes and interior upgrades will be put on offer later. Among the exterior cosmetic changes, side decals and Mugen stripes painted all over the C-Pillar are included. Other significant changes include rear bumper spoilers connected with side skirts, a black grille, faux carbon-fiber finished wing mirrors, boot spoiler and 17 inch alloy wheels.
Powering the vehicle is a 1.5 litre four cylinder, petrol engine that is capable of producing a top power of 120 PS along with a peak torque of 14.8 kgm. Basic trim of City is available with a five-speed manual transmission, trims lined-up above basic get a CVT transmission.
