Nissan Motors is planning to introduce a new 2011 Nissan Murano in October 2010. The model will be available in four trim levels: S AWD, (new), SV AWD, SL AWD and LE AWD. The crossover will come equipped with the VQ-series 3.5l DOHC V6 engine, good for 260 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque. The unit works in conjunction with systems already fitted by Nissan on most of the lineup, including Xtronic CVT, Intuitive All-Wheel Drive system, standard Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) and Traction Control System (TCS).

The 2011 Murano Convertible’s real competition will come from stylish convertibles like the Volkswagen EOS, Volvo C70 and Mitsubishi Eclipse. It will have a new front grille and bumper, new taillights and a new wheel design. The second-generation Murano was introduced two years ago, and is now getting a mid-cycle facelift. The automaker is also adding two new models to the lineup, offering customers eight versions of the crossover.

Nissan is planning to bring the model in India by next year with diesel engine option. So far, Nissan had been planning to import the same but now with its new assembly unit becoming operational near Chennai, it may import the same as CKD unit and assemble locally to make it price competitive.
