Bollywood celebrities have always been fascinated towards swanky and expensive cars. Akshay Kumar is one of the passionate bike and car lovers in bollywood who owns Porsche Cayenne, Bentley Continental Open Door, Honda CRV etc, along with a Harley Davidson, gifted by John Abraham and Yamaha V-Max.

Porsche Cayenne is one of the most popular celebrity cars in India, which is also owned by Arjun Rampal, Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Bipasa Basu and south Indian actor Prithviraj. In fact, the Cayenne is also the best-selling Porsche in India. The SUV has sporty and unique design, inspired by the VW Touareg and Audi Q7 that has evolved over time.

The new-generation of this luxury SUV gets more sculpted creases and new styling elements that make it substantially smaller and more stunning than the old one. The interior ergonomics and top-notch material quality reflect its premium class. The elevated driving position, extremely supportive seats and ample legroom offer immense comfort. Overall layout is quite practical including the forward and behind of the gear shift selector, upward sloping centre console etc.

The air suspension and Porsche’s PASM (Porsche active suspension management) ride control are offered as standard. Features like Porsche entry and drive system (keyless entry-and-go), automatically activated boot-lid, panoramic sunroof and four-zone climate control system also come as standard. While the rear seat ventilation, surround camera, soft-close doors and a performance package - Sports Chrono - are optional offerings.

What makes this SUV one of the most popular Porsche cars in India is its drivability and a superb road presence. The Diesel S engine with immense torque is far more powerful and quick than a V8 petrol engine. Powering its diesel model is a 3.0-litre, V6 engine that develops a maximum power of 245bhp @ 3800-4400rpm with 550Nm of torque at 1750-2750rpm. It can mark 0-100kmph in 7.6 seconds with a top speed of 218kmph.

The S Diesel model delivers 385bhp at 375rpm with 850Nm at 2000-2750rpm. It takes 5.4 seconds to complete 0-100kmph sprints, while maintaining a top speed of 252kmph. The Cayenne S and Turbo variants derive their power from a 420bhp, 3.6-litre V6 bi-turbo and 520bhp, 4.8-litre bi-turbo V8 petrol engines, respectively. The former accelerates 0-100kmph in 5.5 seconds with a top speed of 259kmph, while later one takes 4.5 seconds with a top speed of 279kmph.

These powertrains, offering dynamic and effortless driving experience, are the core attractions of this SUV, especially among enthusiasts. An 8-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission is on offer. Despite having a high and heavy body-construction, the Cayenne drives so well. Body control is quite impressive.
