Tata Motors launched the upgraded version of the highly successful utility vehicle, the Sumo Gold. The updated Sumo Gold gets several upgrades and features. The new model gets better performance, re-tuned front and rear suspension, improved ergonomics and new color options. The new Sumo Gold gets a new 3.0-litre CR4 Turbo diesel engine that is capable of producing a top power output of 85PS and a peak torque of 250Nm. The new Sumo Gold is claimed to return an ARAI certified fuel economy of 15.3kmpl.

The new Tata Sumo Gold is equipped with new features including music system with USB and Bluetooth connectivity, power windows and an engine immobilizer. The seats are now equipped with new fabric design. It also gets features such as new roof mounted air conditioning unit which were missing in the previous model. This utility vehicle gets redesigned grille flanked by newly designed headlamp. The bumper features integrated fog lamps and a new side graphic. The vehicle also gets an optional alloy wheels. The company has tweaked the suspension system to offer a more comfortable and plusher ride, which further enhances the overall NVH (Noise, Vibrations and Harshness) levels.
