How is the performance of Tata Sumo Gold?

Answer -

The new Tata Sumo Gold gets a BSIV compliant turbocharged diesel heart. Earlier, the vehicle was offered with BSIII compliant diesel motor. The new 3.0-litre CR4 turbocharged diesel engine is capable of producing a top power output of 85PS at 3000rpm and a peak torque of 250Nm between 1000-2000rpm. The high torque value shows that the vehicle never felt lack of power even loaded with bunch of people. However, this is not a vehicle to move fast as it lacks power. This multi utility vehicle takes around 30 seconds to reach 100kmph from zero. The vehicle is capable of hitting a top speed of around 120-130kmph; however, the recommended speed for this vehicle is around 80-100kmph on highways.

The vehicle offers a good fuel economy of around 12kmpl in city driving conditions and 15kmpl on freeways, which is pretty decent. The company has tweaked the gearbox to offer a better shift quality then the previous model. The suspension system is softening to offer comfortable driving experience. This also reduces the overall NVH (Noise Vibration and harshness) levels.
The BSIII compliant model is powered by a 3.0-litre 4SP TCIC engine that churns out a maximum power output of 70bhp at 3000rpm and a peak torque of 223Nm at 1600-2200rpm. This engine is paired to a five-speed manual transmission gearbox which sends the power to rear wheels of the car.
