Tata Indigo [2005-2009]
₹ 3.88 Lakh Onwards
I had test driven the eCS Sedan Indigo
I had test driven the eCS Sedan Indigo about 6 weeks ago. It did seem reasonably good but the engine grunt was far too loud and audible inside the cabin too. The NVH is bad. More sound proofing is surely needed. Also the engine firing lacked thrust and in low gears it struggled for power pick up. The interiors very passable and nothing exceptional. All in all, it does not inspire enough confidence and interest. The low cost is becaues if the low quality fittings. These days Cost is not the only criteria. Value for Money also implies a good packaging of features which are practical and usable in daya to day driving and good quality interiors. Its not a head turner surely. I think the sole effort on the part of TATA's is to have a killer pricing but they have not realised one thing : todays buyer is more of the "searching" types and cannot be taken for granted. The buyer is better informed and also knows what is practical and what can be expected. In that sense I feel TATA's should do something about the above points and not just bank on low cost of their vehicles.
