Detailed Ssangyong Rexton Review

What's Good?

Got my RX7 around 4 months back. Its a real head turner on the road. Great looks and no unnecessary and ugly nostrils on the bonnet. The ride quality is great. Pick up is great, except for first 0.5 second. Interior is very well done. There exists a sense of luxury. Enjoy the Automatic Driver seat and the memory sets. Polarized IRVM is big help in the night. Music System is good and AC is quite powerful.

What can improve?

1. Engine Roar - Not sure anything can be done. More than the noise, the feeling that a lot of Fuel getting burnt is the issue. 2. Glove box - why such a small glove box? There should have been a Freezer box. Even XUV has that. 3. Dashboard needs to be improved. Average mileage, Tripmeter and odometer should be shown together. The clock should be a better looking one. 4. Hand brake should move towards the driver :) 5. Power point in the second row 7. The second row should be able to slide forward so that one can make more space for the third row.

Overall Comments

It does not show an overdose of design but demonstrates a very modest masculine appearance

Interior is quite luxurious. Seats, space, headroom everything makes it comparable to SUVs of at least next two higher segment. Dashboard could have been better.

Ride quality is out of the world. Smooth and terrific pick up except the first 0.5-1 second. Handling is almost like sedan. I have taken narrow U turns in busy road and no issues. Handbrake is little far off, as if the co-passenger is going to apply that. The car front dives a bit while applying brakes but not a major issue. Bound to happen with that momentum. Suspension is soft. Makes it great for city drive. May not be that great while offroading or while going over a speed breaker. I have touched 165kmph in this vehicle and absolutely no issues.

A great vehicle and real value for money. Even after paying another 5lakhs I was not getting same features. Love when people point fingers and turn heads on the road looking at this wonderful beast. Mahindra needs to have separate team to provide customer service. It severly lacks there.
