The Kushaq will be the first model to be launched under the brand’s 2.0 project and will be produced locally at the Pune plant with up to 95 per cent of localisation. The upcoming mid-size SUV, Skoda Kushaq has been unveiled by Skoda recently on a global level. The prices for the Kushaq is likely to be announced in June 2021 followed with deliveries to begin in the month after that.

Under the hood, Skoda has confirmed that the Kushaq will be powered by two petrol engines – 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre TSI. There will be no diesel engine on offer. Transmission options will include a six-speed manual, a six-speed automatic, and a seven-speed DSG unit.

The Kushaq is underpinned by Volkswagen’s MQB-A0-IN platform which has been specifically developed and engineered for Indian road conditions. Dimension-wise, the model measures 4,221mm in length, 1,760mm in width, and 1,612mm in height, while the wheelbase is rated at 2,651mm. The ground clearance of the compact SUV stands at 188mm. On the outside, the Skoda Kushaq gets LED headlamps, a black multi-slat grille, halogen fog lights, faux skid plates at the front and rear, body cladding on either side, roof rails, 17-inch alloy wheels, LED tail lights, a spoiler with an integrated high-mounted stop lamp, and a boot-lid mounted number plate recess. Also on offer will be a sunroof. The model will be offered in five colours that include Candy White, Brilliant Silver, Carbon Steel, Honey Orange, and Tornado Red.
