        Whats Good

the drive, the CVT is excellent.the handling on the curb and maneuvering is excellent. no jerks at sudden change of speed. it has turbo feature which is very sporty. the music system is also good. Space inside is akin to the top luxury cars. Excellent locking features and the push button engine start and stop is amazing. the Boot is cavernous. u can fit all the luggage in the world.

        What Can Improve

they could have integrated the Casca Music system in the top end model which would give GPS and rear view camera as OEM.

overall value for money. at that cost u get the high end luxury car features and comfort.

The best part about the Renault Scala is its new automatic transmission. This makes it very simple to drive the car during peak city conditions. I had heard about the clutch in the manual Scala giving buyers a tough time, which is why I preferred to purchase the automatic version. In addition, there is ample amount of space for my family of five, along with luggage for a weekend getaway. Mileage is also pretty good, at about 13 kmpl, considering that this is an automatic model.

After driving both the Indigo Manza and the Renault Scala in order to choose a mid size diesel sedan, I found the Scala to be more comfortable. Even while sitting in the back seat, there was great comfort. However, some under thigh-support may have been preferable. The centre arm rest in the Scala is placed at just the right place. Though power in the Indigo Manza is 5 bhp higher than the Scala, the 1.5 litre engine of the Renault vehicle accelerates more easily than Manza.

I drove the Renault Scala diesel 5 days before, for a friend who is considering the thought of purchasing this vehicle. The car seems to have a lovely elegant look that would appeal to most buyers. Style and features of this sedan make it appear more expensive than it actually is. Power delivered by the diesel K9K motor is 85 bhp, which was adequate to drive through peak traffic in New Delhi. Seat comfort is great and gives a luxurious feel.

I recently purchased the Renault Scala. After communicating with a relative, I realised that the engine and platform of this car is very similar to the Nissan Sunny that he owns. Both our cars have a 1.5 litre petrol engine, which delivers 98 bhp of power. However, after driving both vehicles, I felt that the Scala seems more responsive to the throttle, which could possibly be due to the tweaking of the engine. Both vehicles need quick gear changes for constant acceleration. The gearbox in the Scala also felt smoother. Overall, I am happy to have purchased the Scala instead of Sunny.

With a budget of up to Rs. 9 lakhs, I intend to purchase a brand which is not very common on the road. Keeping this in mind, the Renault Scala immediately marked a hit, as other models such as the Tata Indigo Manza and Maruti Swift DZire are quite common. But it is difficult to understand why the Scala is priced almost Rs 1 lakh more than the Sunny, when both are almost same. Extra alloy wheels and ABS are also available in some variants of the Sunny. Sitting inside the Scala, I did not see any feature to distinguish it from the Sunny, apart from the Renault logo.

A first look at the new Renault Scala gives you a feeling of being sporty from the front and premium at the rear. Since the last 6 months of owing this vehicle, I have found it to be equally pliant on potholed roads. The car runs an average of 60 km every day, delivering an average fuel mileage of 14 kmpl with air conditioner. I enjoy opening the boot of this vehicle with a remote, which seems like a convenient option while entering malls and hotels. Features such as alloy wheels, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and air bags are a boon in my diesel RXL variant.

After driving a friend's Renault Scala, I really felt that this company has gained the knack of making user-friendly vehicles for Indian customers. Manoeuvring this vehicle through the city is a breeze, due to the accuracy of its power steering. In terms of acceleration though, I felt that the vehicle became a touch sluggish after switching on the AC. However, at prices between Rs. 7 lakhs to Rs. 10 lakhs, this car is great value for money.

After testing the Renault Scala recently, I found its 1.5 litre engine to be a delightful drive in almost all conditions. The car looks more sporty and aggressive as compared to the Nissan Sunny. Unique shape of the headlamps, along with a generous dose of chrome on the front adds to the beauty of this car. Premium leather upholstery gives this model a sense of elegance. Automatic transmission in this vehicle makes driving very convenient on city roads. In sum total, this car gives perfect bang for buck, according to me.
