Renault KWID caught Fire
What Can ImproveRenault KWID caught Fire Renault India for supplying me faulty vehicle Renault Kwid RXT model purchased on 26/10/15 with no extra fittings/ accessories except mud flaps. After my first summer trip to faridabad, came back home around 5pm, thereafter it was a nightmare for us, as around 12 mid night, we woked up by alarms from neighbours of fire in our car. We poured water to extinguish the fire. On inspection of car we observed the engine compartment fully melted down due to internal wiring / faulty design, in parked conditions. We came to know of damage, only when car catched fire around 12 mid night. We thank our stars, that this top end model didn't catches fire, when we were driving the car. Renault India cheated on us, by introducing unsafe car in India. A Complaint was lodged with Renault at 1 AM after the incidence. In morning, on Complaint to Renault 24 hour help line, my car was picked up and inspected. The car engine was fully gutted, even tyres were got affected. I was told we would be given a new car as replacement as car has been damaged due to fault in design /wiring. All Renault staff asked us many questions and even visited the site of incidence. A Complaint no. 4-01783350 dated 11/4/16 was lodged with Renault customer care. To surprise we received a call from Mr. Gaurav Negi, Renault India on 13/4/16 followed by letter from Ms. Neetu Chawla, Renault India informing us that the car technology is tamper proof. We doused the fire ourself, without informing Delhi Fire Brigade & Delhi Police and disconnected battery terminal to prevent further burning due to short circuit & petrol tank catching fire We are elderly senior citizen couple living in Delhi, with both sons staying in Germany. We are very worried to see the fire in engine. We fear risk to our life. We purchased this car from our savings. Renault India is deliberately denying their faulty design as reason for fire in engine. The car has run less than 2000 km in five months. The Renault Kwid has 2 years warranty against manufacturing defects as per the clause 2 of Terms and Conditions of KWID Vehicle WarrantY They have kept our car at their workshop at Rama Road, Delhi since early morning 11/4/16 with no action taken to provide us alternate car for usage till time new car is provided to us as replacement. Please take action against Renault India and direct them to stop sales of their defective designed car KWID in market, till period the defect is removed and they declare their KWID is safe to drive, in Indian condition. I request you to direct Delhi Fire Brigade and Delhi Police to take suo motto cognizance of fire in Renault Kwid Car engine and take action to stop sales of KWID in Indian market.
