The 2015 season is going to be more exciting with Yamaha unveiling the official bike for the FIM World Endurance Championship. The company had won the last year’s WEC title with the Yamaha France GMT 94 Michelin Racing team. It will definitely try to maintain its supremacy in the 2015 season. This time over, the competition is expected to be conducted on the brand new YZF-R1 motorcycle.

This was the occasion to unveil the 2015 livery, which will continue to feature the blue and white trademark racing colours of the manufacturer. David Checa, Mathieu Gines and Kenny Foray will ride the motorcycle. Incidentally, these were the riders who helped the brand to grab the championship last season.

Yamaha had recently launched the new YZF-R1 in the United Kingdom with a price tag of GBP 18499, which comes to around 17.82 lakhs INR. There have been rumours that the brand will initiate the litre-class superbike to India before the year-end. It is expected to be priced around 20 lakhs INR. The bike will be imported to India as a completely built unit (CBU). Stiff competition is expected to be offered in this segment with the likes of Suzuki GSX R-1000, Aprilia RSV4 and Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R.
