      Yamaha registered higher sales in February 2012

      India Yamaha Motor continued its impressive sales performance in India and attained 23% growth compared to similar period of previous year.  In February 2011, sales of Yamaha in the domestic market were 23,384 units, which reached to 27,050 units in February 2012. Hence, a 15.7% growth has been registered by the company. Compared to 9,662 units international sales in February 2011, Yamaha exported 13,605 units in February 2012. Against 33,046 units in February 2011, total sales recorded in February 2012 were 40,655 units.

       Speaking on the results, Mr. Roy Kurian, National Business Head, India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd., said, “We are very pleased with the sales growth that we’ve witnessed in the past month on account of our strong product portfolio and high customer confidence in us. Our accolade models such as the YZF-R15, FZ series, and SZ series have been very well accepted. We are also planning to implement our Best 3S (Sales, Service & Spares) set up in tier-2 & tier-3 cities and increase sub-dealers in the rural areas as well to further boost our sales.”

      By NDTV Car & Bike Awards 2012, Yamaha received Two-Wheeler Manufacturer of the Year. The Yamaha YZF-R15 was awarded Variant of the Year – Bike by Car India & Bike India Awards 2012.

      The company continues to strengthen its relationship with the customers and ‘YES! YAMAHA’ campaign has been launched by it as a part of the process. Through this campaign, the bike maker attempts to provide superb 3S experience to the riders, so that they accepts it like the word “YES”

      Yamaha made a moderate start in the Indian market in 1985, and the company became a 100% subsidiary of Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd, Japan (YMC) in August 2001. In order to become a joint-investor in India Yamaha Motor Private Limited (IYM), Mitsui & Co., Ltd. signed an agreement with YMC in 2008.  The production unit of IYM is situated at Faridabad in Haryana and Surajpur in Uttar Pradesh from where it manages its operations. In these plants, the company manufactures motorcycles for domestic as well as foreign markets.

      IYM is backed by a strong team of more than 2,000 employees, which helps it in executing its business. Further, the company has set up 400 dealerships across India to provide convenience to the customers. The product portfolio of the company comprises YZF-R1 (998cc), FZ1 (998cc), Fazer (153cc), VMAX (1,679cc), MT01 (1,670cc), SZ, SZ-X & SZ-R (153cc), FZ-S (153cc), and FZ (153cc). Apart from these, YBR 125 (123cc), YBR 110 (106cc), YZF-R15 Ver 2.0(150cc), SS125 (123cc), and Crux (106cc) of the company are also running successfully.
