Yamaha R25, one of the Japanese bike maker’s most recent offerings to the market, has got a tremendous response within a day of its launch. This 250 cc bike, reportedly, received around 2800 bookings within a space of just 25 hours, which was quite incredible and a great achievement for the company. Now, the firm has gone ahead and realised that the demand is going to be higher than the supply and it will have to do something to change that. According to a report by Otosia, the Japanese firm has decided to export the bike from its Indonesia facility to 30 countries across the globe.

Shintaro Ambe, Representative Director and Executive Vice-President at Yamaha, said that the Japanese auto maker is going to start the export of this bike with around 13-14 countries initially and the number is expected to go up to 30 in the coming time. Albeit this has been decided, the method of export will be determined at a later stage as to whether this bike will go as a CKD (Completely Knocked Down) unit or a CBU (Completely Built Unit).

Incredibly, sources claim that Yamaha R25 takes a time of three minutes to be assembled, which is incredibly quick. According to reports, its launch in the Indian market is imminent and any month in the next three could see Yamaha R25 making its debut in India. The recent past has seen the firm concentrate only on scooters as far as India is concerned but now Yamaha wants to expand its reach to the huge bike customer base and claim a small chunk out of it.

The bike market in India never ceases to grow and there is plenty of growth in the 250-cc bike segment. From what it looks like, Yamaha R25 could be brought to India as a Completely Knocked Down Unit (CKD), which will help the firm to keep down the cost and thereby price the product aggressively. In fact, models like Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Suzuki Inazuma are also assembled in India, which lays down a relevant precedent for Yamaha.
