India Yamaha Motor Pvt. Ltd., a completely owned subsidiary of Japanese auto maker Yamaha Motor Company, has started its much awaited special scooter riding initiative for females in New Delhi. The Yamaha Female Riding Training program is a part of the company's strategy to target young urban female population for purchasing its Ray scooter.

India Yamaha Motor revealed its plans of the female scooter riding training program, during the launch of its Ray scooter in the domestic auto market. As per reports, more than 80 young women participated in Yamaha Female Riding Training program held in the National Capital. The training initiative is devised to help females in learning the basics of safe scooter riding, besides obtaining a driving license. Sources suggest that the Yamaha Female Riding Training Program will be organised in more Indian cities in the near future.

Expressing views on the unique Yamaha Female Riding Training initiative, Jun Nakata, Director of Sales Yamaha Motor India, has been quoted as saying, “Young girls these days consider scooters a viable option for commuting and the best way to encourage them is by providing them quality training with strong and stable instructors. This training will therefore meet the need for a riding school for girls in India. Yamaha supports these young riders through 'Yamaha Female Riding Training – YFRT' to be safe riders and less prone to accidents. YFRT is also a good platform to explain the features & benefits of our scooter Ray that we launched in September last year, the response for which has been very encouraging.”
