Yamaha India, the domestic arm of Japanese auto maker, is preparing for the launch of Fazer FI v2.0 for the Indian auto market. It must be noted that the company has recently launched the Yamaha FZ v2.0 model, which was mated with fuel-injection technology. Sources close to the development process have hinted that the technical specifications of the new Fazer will be similar to the new FZ FI v2.0. However, the upcoming bike, which will be launched by September end, will be placed above the newly launched FZ.
It is expected that the upcoming Fazer FI v2.0 will source most of its body panels from the new FZ FI v2.0. At the front fascia, the new twin headlights are anticipated to get sharper lines. In order to give this bike a sportier look, its lower part of the fairing is provided with air scoops. Sources said that the new Fazer will also share other things from the new FZ series like engine, exhaust, suspension system and some other technical stuff.
The new bike will come equipped with a single-cylinder 149 cc engine, mated to fuel injection technology. This performance oriented engine churns out a maximum power of 13 bhp with a peak torque of 13 Nm. In order to transmit the produced output to its rear wheels, the new Fazer will be incorporated with a five-speed manual transmission system. It is being said that owing to the Blue Core technology installed in the engine, it produces more power than the erstwhile 153 cc engine. Also, the lower weight of the new model promises enhanced performance and efficiency.
