Volkswagen's next update to the Vento and Polo seems to be right around the corner with updated models snapped taking rounds in Pune recently. The test mules sported LED DRLs and headlamps.

The LED units in the headlamp cluster were the same as the ones displayed on the Vento at the Auto Expo earlier this year. The alloy wheels design is also new while the rest of the exterior remains unchanged. The carmaker is expected to add these new features in the Highline Plus variant that will be positioned over the present Highline trim. Black alloy wheels might also be offered as an optional extra.

The Volkswagen Vento is presently sold in both petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.6-litre MPI naturally aspirated four-cylinder petrol and the 1.2-litre TSI turbocharged four-cylinder petrol will continue to be offered. However, the 1.6-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel might be replaced by the updated 1.5-litre diesel motor. The current manual and automatic transmissions will remain unchanged.

Volkswagen is expected to bring this round of updates to their Vento and Polo early next year. These add-on features should demand a premium over the current prices of the cars. Let's hope these prices are not too exorbitant as the company already plans to hike prices of all cars by up to three per cent.
