Volvo India will launch the V90 Cross Country for the Indian market on 12 July 2017. We are expecting it to be priced between Rs 55 lakhs to Rs 60 lakhs in the niche segment.
The Volvo V90 Cross Country is essentially a rugged version of the V90 estate, not available in India. The upcoming vehicle is based on the S90 sedan and gets an enhanced boot space instead of the conventional boot. Then to increase its off-road capabilities, it boasts of SUV-like design elements including faux bash plates, exterior cladding, roof rails, large alloy wheels and an increased ground clearance. It also features an all-wheel drive system and air suspension.
The V90 Cross Country will be powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel mill belting out 235bhp of power and 480Nm of torque. This engine comes paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox and also gets four driving modes - eco, comfort, dynamic and rough road.
This will be Volvo's third Cross Country model to go on sale in India, after the V40 Cross Country and the S60 Cross Country. Let's hope it turns out to an aspiring buy by providing the practicality of an SUV with the comfort of a sedan.
