Under the hood, the newly launched Volvo V90 Cross Country is powered by a 2.0-litre D5 diesel engine that churns out 235bhp of power and 480Nm of torque. The powerful engine comes mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox and offers four driving modes - eco, comfort, rough road and dynamic. The vehicle also gets an all-wheel drive system. Visually, the new model also features beefier body cladding and bigger wheels. Moreover, this time around it also gets vertical black bars with tiny chrome squares instead of the chrome bars on the grille.

As for the interior, the new Volvo V90 Cross Country gets interesting shades of amber, maroon brown or charcoal-coloured leather with mesh aluminium trim. The dashboard gets unique vertical air-con slats with adjustments and a large tablet-like infotainment system. Moreover, it gets cooled front seats that offer massage function and allows electric adjustment for lumbar, lateral and thigh support. Mercedes-Benz GLE 250d is being touted as a strong competitor to this newly launched Volvo V90 Cross Country.
