Notably, Volvo V40 Cross Country takes safety measures to an utmost level. It happens to be the first Volvo car featuring an upgraded City Safety system. This system was earlier active at a speed of 30 kmph but Volvo has increased the limit to 50 kmph. Being a unique innovation of the company, this system comprises laser sensors integrated into the windscreen, reaching the height of rear-view mirror. The feature keeps an eye on the traffic ahead with the assistance of sensors and applies immediate braking to the car if the driver somehow fails to notice the vehicles stopping or slowing down in the front. The City Safety also comes to action if the car is approaching a stationary vehicle on the road at a fast speed. With the addition of such features, the auto maker has successfully reduced the impact of any dreadful occurrence.

Interestingly, Volvo has been the optimal choice for auto aficionados when it comes to safety aspects. The company has always prioritised the well being of an individual before implementing any design or a new feature in its car. The likes of XC60, XC90, S40, S80 and C30 have been lauded with praises by its owners and other auto fanatics. Volvo XC60 even bagged the award of International truck of the year 2010 by International Car of the Year authorities. Volvo cars have also been the favourites of European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP), as they top its charts with the most efficient ratings. The Euro NCAP collision test witnessed Volvo V40 getting a five star rating, which is the highest rank of this institute.

Glancing through the abovementioned facts, one is not at all astonished to see Volvo adding another grant in their unparalleled feats. The achievement of Autocar award is yet another remarkable accomplishment for the Swedish auto giant. Bloomberg TV Autocar awards have been constantly extolling the domestic car manufacturers implementing its unique and exclusive concept in automobiles. The auto award show is a jubilant event among auto lovers of the country and the event has been deemed a huge success on national as well as global levels.
