Swedish Luxury car maker Volvo has failed to get handsome sales number in the world’s second fastest growing automotive market, India, in its third year too. Where most of the luxury vehicle makers have experienced a noticeable growth in the last year too, Volvo could make it to a 130 sales figure only. As per reports, company had to struggle with the financial crisis and global challenges.

Company’s new MD, Tomas Ernberg, stated that Volvo India is now working on strategies to triple its sales to 500 units this year. Showing his confidence in the strategies for coming year, Ernberg says, “We know which products we will introduce in the Indian market, which are the segments we will enter. Volvo worldwide is expecting to record sales of 800,000 units by the end of the decade. and India will contribute significantly to that growth story.”

The company is looking to double the sales outlet numbers too to 14 over the next couple of years. Talking more on the expansion plans, Tomas Ernberg added that corporate editions of sedans S60 and S80 too will be introduced to increase Volvo's sales volume.
