Volvo India recently concluded the media drives of the V90 Cross Country. The Swedish carmaker will announce the prices of the new vehicle tomorrow.
The Volvo V90 Cross Country will be available as a D5 derivative. This comes powered by a 2.0-litre D5 diesel mill producing 235bhp of power and 480Nm of torque. This engine comes paired to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Four driving modes are standard like in the S90 sedan, but this vehicle gets an AWD system as well to offer better off-road capabilities.
Design-wise, the V90 Cross Country carries forward the styling of the S90 sedan. It gets similar features too, but additionally it also gets a huge cargo space instead of the conventional boot of the sedan. The ground clearance has been raised to 210mm and the car rides on 20-inch alloy wheels.
You might have realised by now that estates or station wagons have not really been well-accepted in our country. Volvo also has considered this and so is offering this raised derivative of the V90 estate in India. With the practicality of an estate, comfort and luxury of a sedan and ground clearance of an SUV, the V90 Cross Country should strike a chord with Indian buyers if priced competitively at around Rs 60 lakh.
