      Volkswagen Vento facelift's pictures leaked; might launch in India as well

      Volkswagen, the German luxury carmaker, that launched the facelifted Polo in the country in 2014, is working on a significantly updated model of the car. In fact, the updated model has already been spotted in Russia, where it is sold as the Polo sedan. VW might launch it in India as well in the second half of this year.

      While the 2014 Vento had received new headlamps, slightly tweaked rear and new alloy wheels, the next model will get an all new front fascia.It will get the new Jetta-like triple slat chrome grille, and new foglamp housing on the new bumper. Also visible are new horizontal bar across the rear, with chrome inserts. The sedan gets an all-new chrome strip on the lower bumper and enclosure for exhaust on the left.

      The Vento facelift will also get some mechanical upgrades, but the changes are limited to recalibrated engines. More optimised gear ratios, especially on the DSG automatics are expected to be on offer. The upcoming Vento facelift will take on the likes of new Hyundai Verna, Maruti Ciaz and the Honda City. It is expected to be launched in the country ahead of the festive season (September/October).
