      Volkswagen to roll-out new Passat in India today

      Volkswagen India, the Indian unit of the largest European car maker Volkswagen, is all set to roll out a new version of its popular luxury sedan Passat in the Indian market on 29th March 2011. The New Passat model will be carrying a number of up-gradations and changes at both technological and styling front.

      Sporting a 1.8L TSI petrol engine, the all new Volkswagen Passat model is capable of generating a peak power of 140bhp. The power-packed engine of the car will come packed by a 6-speed DSG gearbox that provides the driver with an option of switching between automatic and manual transmission. Moreover, the car will come loaded with a number of new additions such as a gear shift indicator, brake energy recuperation system, and new more comfortable interiors.

      Moreover, the all new Passat will be rolled-out in the country with Volkswagen’s latest Bluemotion features in India. It is the first time when Volkswagen is introducing its Bluemotion features in the country.

      At present, the Passat model is only available in a manual transmission version in India. The Volkswagen Passat price tag is around Rs 19,20,777 (ex showroom Delhi).
