Volkswagen, the largest European car maker, is now aggressively planning to enhance its workforce along with expanding its dealership network across the globe. The car maker is looking forward to hire as many as 5,00,000 new employees in its workforce by year 2018. The company seems to have already started the initial process of this mass scale hiring as it plans to add over 51,000 employees in its work force next year itself. All these plans can be seen as a part of Volkswagen’s aim of becoming the largest car maker in the world by year 2018.

Along with enhancing the workforce, the car maker is eyeing to cross the crucial sales mark of 10 million units along with enhancing the profit margins by a minimum of 8 percent. According to the company, the latest modular component system would help the company in keeping ahead of their expansion strategy.

The firm will be expanding its operations with implementing a modular approach, which will not only enable it to cut costs but will also help the firm in ensuring quicker production. The firm will be equipped to roll out a number of car models and technologies through this approach. Additionally, it will also help it to reduce the production time per vehicle by 30 percent and unit cost by 20 percent.
