Safety features like seven airbags, automatic post-collision braking system, front assist with city emergency braking and pedestrian monitoring, lane assist will be offered as standard across all variants. Other noteworthy fitments include triple-zone automatic climate control, adaptive cruise control, panoramic sunroof, 360 degree area view and pre-crash proactive occupant protection.

For the European market, the Volkswagen Tiguan will be available with four TSI petrol and four diesel engines producing power between 123bhp to 237bhp. These powertrains are Euro-6 compliant, and are claimed to be 24% more fuel efficient than the predecessor.
