Back in 2014 Auto Expo the Taigun compact SUV from Volkswagen had mesmerized many who attended the event. The fairly styled compact SUV was expected to debut in international markets sometime later this year, but as per fresh update from sources, the company has shelved its plans for now. Instead, the company shall likely introduce the T-Cross concept that is an entry-level compact SUV that is believed to be based on the Polo platform. The concept vehicle may be showcased at the upcoming 2016 Geneva Motor Show.

As per reports from sources, Volkswagen has shelved the idea of launching Taigun owing to vehicle’s small design. Apart from this, it is also believed that financial situation in South American market is not favorable for the brand as of now. Sources have further added that the upcoming concept could share some resemblance with the T-Rock, a golf based vehicle that was showcased by the company way back in 2014.
