After the cosmetic and equipment updates in 2015 and 2016, the Volkswagen Polo gets another update and this one is on the inside. The Volkswagen Polo was launched in the Indian market back in 2010 and since then the German carmaker has been updating the premium hatch on a regular basis.

The halo features like the rain-sensing wipers and cruise control have been moved from Highline to the new top-of-the-line Highline Plus trim. The Highline Plus also gets new 16-inch alloy wheels and the 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system from the Ameo compact sedan.

The Highline, along with the Highline Plus, gets leather upholstery, auto-dimming interior rear-view mirror, a chrome strip on the front bumper and rear parking sensors. The Highline Plus gets rear AC vents along with the armrest for the driver but the Highline misses out on that.

The Trendline and Comfortline trims will continue with the same equipment. With the added equipment the Polo now has come at par with the competitors in the premium hatchback segment. But it still misses out on the market favourites like daytime running lamps unlike the Maruti Baleno or the Hyundai Elite i20.

The Volkswagen Polo comes with two petrol engines and one diesel engine and is one of the most powerful cars in its segment. It is also the only one in the segment to offer a dual-clutch automatic gearbox with its turbocharged petrol engine.
