The German manufacturer Volkswagen has taken the hatchback segment by a storm with its small car Polo. This model has become one of the most favourite for Indian car lovers. Having a mileage of nearly 17.2 kilometres per litre under favourable circumstances, this car is powered by an 1197 cc engine. It generates approximately 103.6 bhp at the rate of 5000 rpm. Also, the twisting force of this car is 175 Nm; however, it may slightly different depending on the variant. Incidentally, the car like most other models of the current generation comes in a number of variants.
In the diesel variants, the Polo has four different models, which vary slightly in their features as well as pricing. The 1.5 TDI Trendline model, which gives a higher mileage than the petrol models, is priced at 6.3 lakhs INR. The 1.5 TDI Comfortline, with similar lines of performance, is priced at a higher 6.9 lakhs INR. The pricing of 1.5 TDI Highline is higher at 7.4 lakh INR but the most expensive model in this category goes to the Polo GT TDI at 8 lakh INR. All the prices reflect the ex-showroom tagging and may vary depending on the state of purchase.
In the petrol segment, there are only two variants available as of now. The 1.2 MPI Trendline has been tagged at a much lower 5.0 lakhs INR, while the other 1.2 MPI Comfortline is priced at 5.6 lakhs INR. Again, these prices are ex-showroom values and are subject of slight variations. With an affordable pricing and sleek looks, Volkswagen Polo has become the next generation hatchback favourite for car lovers in India.
