Volkswagen has launched the Passat Connect in India at a special starting price of Rs 25.99 lakhs. The vehicle gets the Connect system, which is an intelligent connected vehicle assistant system that allows users to experience advanced connected features such as trip tracking, fuel cost monitoring, driving behaviour, SOS call and more. The Passat Connect is available in CL and HL variants.
The interactive ‘Connect’ app connects the smartphone to the car via the ‘plug and play’ dongle fitted to the on-board diagnostics (OBD) port of the car. The installed device connects to the smartphone via Bluetooth and gives out vital details in terms of trip tracking, fuel cost monitoring, driving behaviour, location sharing, making an SOS call and booking a service appointment. The Connect app is compatible with both Android and iOS platforms. Mechanically, the vehicle continues to be powered by the existing 2.0-litre diesel engine option.
