As per earlier reports, Volkswagen intends to launch the Polo sedan model as VW Vento in India. Now the company has released the sketch of its new sedan which is specially designed for the Indian market. The car will be developed on the existing Polo platform at its Chakan plant near Pune. The new sedan will have a longer 50mm wheelbase than its hatchback model Polo. This means the new Volkswagen Vento will have more legroom for rear passengers. Moreover, Volkswagen also intends to increase the height of the car to offer more headspace in the car.

The exteriors of the car speak of a Polo look alike from the front end along with the rear quarter glass. Moreover, the horizontal line near the bottom of the door is also replicated just as in Polo hatchback. The rear end with tail lights is expected to be different but the sketch does not reveal much details.

The new VW Vento is expected to be powered by the same range of engines but there will be a 1.4L or 1.8L TSI petrol variant. Final technical specifications of the new sedan have not been revealed so far.
