Speaking on the matter, Mr. Ulrich Hackenberg, Member of the Board of Management, Volkswagen brand (Research and Development), said, "The success of the Vento in a competitive market like India makes us confident that this product would be well accepted in other markets with similar needs."

The company has already been successfully dispatching this car to the overseas markets like South Africa from the last year. The cars for exporting purpose will be manufactured at the company’s Chakan plant, from where it rolls-out a number of other portfolio cars including premium hatchback Volkswagen Polo and Skoda Fabia and mid size sedan Skoda Rapid.

While further elaborating the company’s plans, Mr. John Chacko, Volkswagen Group Chief Representative India & President and Managing Director, Volkswagen India, said, "Our export of the Vento to South Africa confirms that we are able to produce high quality cars in India at competitive costs. This shows our potential to further extend our export to new markets in the Middle East and African countries."
