      Volkswagen Golf Gets Greener

      Volkswagen Golf TDI will be vying for the annual Green Car award this year along with Audi A3 TDI, Honda Insight, Mercury Milan Hybrid, Toyota Prius. Volkswagen has launched the greenest ever Golf model VW model after the launch of its Golf Bluemotion that was launched in July.

      The latest Golf Bluemotion is powered by the standard Golf's 106bhp 1.6-litre common-rail diesel engine. The new model reaches 0-100kmph in 11.3 seconds and attains a top speed of 180kmph. The model is complete with all features like ABS with ESP, seven airbags, Climatic semi-automatic climate control and an RCD 210 radio / MP3 compatible CD player. Additional features include low rolling resistance tyres, regenerative braking, longer gear ratios, start/stop system, hill hold and a multifunction computer showing recommended gear changes for maximum economy and sports suspension.

      The model is exempted from annual road tax and has reduced fuel costs. The car is further enhanced by its stylish design and improved aero-dynamics. There are also chrome grille louvres and Bluemotion badges at the front and rear. Sports bumpers, sideskirts, a bigger rear roof spoiler and 15-inch alloys are other features on the exterior.
