Volkswagen has unveiled its Ameo, the compact sedan from the German brand in India. This new compact sedan will be launched in the third quarter of 2016 and it will be priced in between the Polo and the Vento. The Ameo will be manufactured in Volkswagen’s Chakan plant and it hs been engineered for the Indian car market. The Ameo will be coming to India with a 1.2-litre petrol engine that will come mated to a five-speed manual transmission, while the 1.5-litre diesel will come with a manual and a seven-speed DSG as well.
The Volkswagen Ameo wil come with features like dual airbags and ABS as standard, cruise control, rain sensing wipers, static cornering lights, dynamic touchscreen with mirror link, iPod connectivity, phonebook and SMS viewer. There features like climatronic, rear view camera, cooled glovebox, auto dimming IRVM that are also offered on this compact sedan. The Volkswagen Ameo follows the same design language like the Polo and it has the wheelbase of a Polo.
