      Volkswagen adds Vento Diesel Comfortline to its portfolio

      Volkswagen, the German car manufacturer, has launched the Vento Diesel Comfortline in the Indian market. In Maharashtra, the car has been introduced at a price tag of Rs. 8.56 lacs, whereas it will be available at Rs. 8.74 lacs in the rest of India.

      The German car maker has offered the Vento diesel Comfortline with features like body coloured exterior door handles and electrically adjustable outside rear mirror. Apart from these, front and rear fog lights, rear centre armrest, electrically adjustable Outside Rear View Mirrors (ORVMs) and MP3 player are also present in the car. As per company reports, all features that are available in the Vento Trendline will be present in the new model.

      Member of Board and Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Neeraj Garg, said, “Since the introduction of the Vento, we have received requests for the mid-level Trimline and it is our pleasure to be able to provide the customers with their desired car.” Filling the gap of around Rs. 1.40 lacs between the base and high end variant, the new Comfortline variant is expected to bring more sales volumes for the company.

      The 1.6 L TDi turbo diesel engine remains the same with power output of 103 hp and torque of 250 Nm. Fuel economy of the new car will be around 22 kmpl. Along with Vento, the German car maker offers Passat, Beetle, Polo, Jetta, Touareg, and the Phaeton in the Indian market. The new Vento Diesel Comfortline variant will compete with Skoda Rapid to make its mark.
