The EcoSport Ambiente will have two engine options- a 1.5 litre TiVCT petrol and a 1.5 litre TDCi diesel. Both will be mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Remote Central Locking, body coloured bumpers and electric Outside Rear View Mirrors (ORVMs) are part of standard equipment. Sitting above Ambiente, the EcoSport Trend trim will also get Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), steering-mounted audio controls, rear defogger and driver seat height adjuster, along with several other exciting features.

Once again, two engine options would be available in the Titanium variant. It gets the renowned 1.0 litre Ford EcoBoost petrol engine and the 1.5 litre TiVCT petrol engine. The engine assemblies would come equipped with a 6-speed PowerShift automatic transmission system. Leather steering, a synchronised audio system, auto AC, cooled glove box, dual airbags, reverse parking sensors and front arm rest have been installed, apart from the features in the Trend variant. Finally, EcoSport’s top end trim- Titanium Optional boasts of leather seats, push button start system, keyless entry and side and curtain airbags. Each version has more features than the lower variant.

Prices of the individual variants have not been revealed yet on the official source. However, it was earlier reported that Ford India has an aggressive pricing strategy in store for the new vehicle, in order to compete with the likes of Renault and Maruti Suzuki. The base version of the EcoSport could be priced at Rs. 6 lakh, while the top end is expected to come with a retail value around Rs. 9 lakh. At such competitive prices, the Ford EcoSport would surely be a mouth watering proposition, even for buyers considering premium hatchbacks.
