      Upcoming Tata Nexon XZ variant details leaked

      The feature and equipment list in the Nexon XZ variant has been leaked ahead of its official debut. Currently, Tata Nexon, the compact SUV is available in four variants – XE, XM, XT and the XZ+. The new XZ variant will fill the gap between the XT and XZ+ variant which have a considerable price gap difference of Rs 1.45 lakhs. As for changes, it will be limited to cosmetic and feature upgrades, while mechanically it will continue to be powered by existing engine options.

      To be introduced as a more budget friendly option over the XZ+ variant, the XZ variant misses out on features such as LED DRLs, front and rear fog lamps, rear defogger, dual tone roof and dual-tone alloy wheels. However, it gets features like projector headlamps, park assist with rear sensors, electrically foldable ORVMs and reverse camera.

      As for the interior, the Nexon XZ variant gets a 6.5-inch floating touchscreen infotainment with android auto and voice command system, and eight-speakers from Harman. The variant will be offered with features such as adjustable driver seat, automatic climate control with rear vents, USB fast charger and a cooled glove box. Safety equipment such as dual airbags and ABS with EBD are standard across all variants. The XZ variant however will miss out on front and rear armrest along with a 60:40 split folding seats at the rear.

      Under the hood, Tata Nexon XZ will continue to be offered in petrol and diesel engine options. The 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine generates 108bhp of power at 5,000rpm and 170Nm of torque at 1,750 -4,000rpm. The diesel version on the other hand gets a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine that generates 108bhp of power at 3,750rpm and 260Nm of torque at 1,500rpm-2,750rpm. As of now, both the engines will continue to be offered in six-speed manual transmission with three driving modes – Eco, City and Sport. Over time, the utility vehicle manufacturer might also introduce an AMT version.
