With ample small cars in its India portfolio, MSI is an undisputed king of petite cars. However, the car maker has not been lucky as far as sedans are concerned. Besides compact sedan Swift Dzire, currently Maruti has no other potential saloon in India. Sales of SX 4 dropped sharply by 54.5 per cent in March 2014. Its replacement, Ciaz is taking final shape and is expected to be launched in India by July. Showcased at 2014 Auto Expo, the vehicle has been spotted couple of times undergoing test runs in India. A 1.3 litre Multijet diesel and a 1.4 litre K Series petrol engine could power Ciaz diesel and petrol variants respectively. A price tag ranging between Rs 7 lakh to 10 lakh is expected for new Ciaz.

Ford is also readying to spin off new Fiesta in India, the launch is expected to happen anytime now. Fiesta facelift was caught on lens prior to its TVC shooting recently. Several styling updates and inclusion of various equipments inside the cabin is expected. Mechanically, there will be no changes and facelifted Fiesta will continue to be powered with the same 1.5 litre TDCi turbo diesel engine and a 1.5 litre petrol engines. Wrong pricing was the main reason behind the vehicle’s stagnant sales in India, therefore we hope that Ford will tag new Fiesta aggressively to give it a good opening in its segment.
