Honda’s Amaze sedan has been ruling the roost in the compact sedan segment. This Honda sedan has earned it popularity in the domestic market owing to features like comfort, refinement and smart pricing. The Honda’s Amaze has stood up to strong competition from cars like Hyundai Xcent and Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire. The sedan is available in petrol as well as diesel trims, but it always lacked the availability of a CNG variant. This time paying heed to local demands, Honda has reportedly been testing its CNG Amaze trim on Indian roads.

The Honda Amaze in CNG shall continue to be powered by existing 1.2 Liter i-VTEC engine that is capable of delivering about 86.76 Bhp of power with about 109 Nm of torque. If reports are to be believed, the CNG trim shall be available only in manual transmission. Honda has not spoken about the pricing aspect for now, and based on assumptions the CNG trim is likely to cost around Rs. 50,000 extra as compared to a regular petrol version.

On the designing front the vehicle is not expected to receive major upgrades on the interior as well as exterior. The CNG kit in the upcoming vehicle is likely to be fixed in the boot area, which means you may have to make-do with lesser space for your luggage. Post launch, the CNG Amaze trim is likely to perform well in the domestic market.
