Two fresh upcoming hatchbacks – Honda Jazz and Datsun Go are slated for release sometime soon in the Indian market. The Datsun brand which had been inactive for nearly 3 decades has now sprung to life with the 'Go' hatchback planned by Nissan. Right since its inception days, Honda Jazz stood out from the crowd owing to stunning looks, brilliant performance and just about perfect in every way. As time progressed, though a good car, Jazz succumbed to over pricing and lower fuel efficiency in comparison to the likes of Maruti Suzuki Swift, Hyundai i10 and others.

The 5 door Datson Go hatchback is powered by a 1.2 litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine. The fairly powered engine is mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox and delivers a fuel efficiency of around 20.6 kmpl. As per sources, the diesel version is anticipated to be launched at a later unreleased date. Series production of the first Datsun model in India, the Datsun Go, has began on the 4th of February at the Renault-Nissan joint venture Oragadam plant in Chennai. The front seats in the Datsun Go has been designed keeping in mind the natural curve of the spine to support the pelvis and chest, thereby relieving pressure off your back. The interior is spacious and noise free. Amongst a list of hatchback cars in India, the Datsun brand may face the stiffest competition from the Maruti Suzuki Celerio.

An amazing hatchback from the Honda stable is set for a relaunch with two fuel options – 1.2 litre petrol and the 1.5-litre diesel engine. The petrol engine generates about 86Ps of power with 109Nm of torque, whereas its diesel counterpart generates about 100Ps of power with 200Nm of torque. As per sources 90Ps tuning mark for the diesel engine may work wonders for the Japanese car-maker, this is mainly done to extract better fuel efficiency from the engine and stand at a competitive platform with its competitors. It is expected that the car may retain the five-speed auto box found in petrol versions of Amaze and Brio models. On the exterior, Jazz features a new grill design and looks bolder than before. Cosmetic upgrades have been carried to bumpers and sides of this car to make it look sportier than before. The tail lights now feature a cluster pattern that makes it visually appealing. The attractive wedge shaped D-pillar has been retained from the yesteryear Jazz version. The new Jazz is expected to compete against the likes of Hyundai i20, Maruti Suzuki Swift, Nissan Micra and Volkswagen Polo GT. Pricing is expected to be on a lower side this time around and expects to gain a strong footing in the Indian market.
