The biggest automotive event in the country, Auto Expo 2016 offers a major platform for automakers to showcase their upcoming vehicles and ideas to the world. Sources have indicated that the German automaker BMW shall unveil three new models namely – 7-series sedan, X1 SUV and 3-series facelift at the event.
The new BMW 7-series sedan shall emerge as a strong competitor to the Mercedes S-Class. Though the sedan gets sleeker styling cues, BMW has engineered the vehicle to offer enhanced drive and handling quality. The interiors get a richer feel and come with high-end features. More details about the vehicle are not known for now and it may be known at a later date. Sources have indicated that the new model could be launched in upcoming 2016 Auto Expo event.
The all new BMW X1 could likely claim its lost share from the likes of Audi Q3 and the Mercedes-Benz GLA. To begin with the German automaker has improved the cabin space as compared to the older generation. The new model would be based on a front-wheel-drive platform. The SUV would be powered by 2.0-litre diesel engine with xDrive all-wheel drive mated to eight-speed automatic gearbox that generates about 189bhp of power.
The BMW 3-series facelift is likely to continue being powered by a 2.0-litre diesel engine. The facelift would get minor cosmetic tweaks that would make it look wider than the earlier model, on the front the sedan gets a new bumper with a wider air dam, while the rear-bumper has also been redone. BMW 3-series shall also be offered with new LED headlamps andtail lamps.
