Indian drivers Oshan Kothadiya and Shailesh Bolisetti will participate in separate international racing tournaments in 2012. While the former has been chosen to partake in the Scirocco R-cup held in Germany, the latter will drive in the British GT series for the first time.

Oshan was selected for the racing tournament in Germany after he had a successful stint in the 2011 Polo R-cup, which is held in India. He attained the second position in the event after he lost to his competitor Vishu Prasad by a small margin in the concluding race of the 2011 season. The chief organiser of Polo R-cup, Volkswagen, usually takes the winner of the tournament to Germany. However, fortunately for Oshan, Vishu chose not to go and the opportunity was passed on the second place contender. He will join the distinguished company of Aditya Patel and Shailesh Bolisetti as the only Indian drivers to take part in the Scirocco R-cup.

On the other hand, Oshan's senior Sailesh Bolisetti has been chosen by Lotus Sport UK to drive in the British GT Series. He will test his driving skills on a Lotus Evora from this weekend in the GT4 category, where he will competes against other drivers racing in the likes of Nissan 370Z, BMW M3, Aston Martin N24 and Mazda MX5. With a total of 7 seven rounds per season, the British GT Series is said to be most competitive racing tournament of UK. The premier British Sportscar event has a grid that can hold a total of 35 cars and has various entries sponsored by manufacturers.

Meanwhile, motor sports are also gaining pace in India as Dakshin Dare is ready to be flagged off in the city of Mysore. The event, promoted by India's largest car maker Maruti Suzuki, is hosted by Motor Sport Inc., Bangalore and will cover a total distance of 1500 km. It will commence on April 09, 2012 at 4 pm and conclude on April 14, 2012. The route will cover cities like Mysore, Coorg (with dirt track race), Wayanad, Ooty, Coimbatore, Satyamanagala and Bangalore. The winner will be decided according to the speed maintained by the racers over the period of 5 years.

Its unique 'Ultimate Cars' phase would include cars that will be specially tailored for rallying; these would race at high speeds on closed roads and at low speeds on regular roads. On the other hand, a Time Speed Distance (TSD) rally will also be held on regular roads, where the participating cars will race at slow speeds.Indian drivers Oshan Kothadiya and Shailesh Bolisetti will participate in separate international racing tournaments in 2012.
