TVS Motors is planning to re-launch the 125cc twin-spark motorcycle in the two-wheeler market. The company was fighting in the court of law with Bajaj Auto over its twin-spark technology which Bajaj claimed to have patented. The model was discontinued owing to the ongoing legal battle between the two. Meanwhile, TVS had launched a single plug model in the Indian market to continue selling the model in the country.
As TVS Motors emerges victorious from the legal tussle, the company prepares itself to re-launch the twin-spark model in the country once again. “We are clearing the stocks of the single spark-plug version. Production of twin spark-plug Flame will begin this month,” said TVS Motor’s Chairman and Managing Director, Mr Venu Srinivasan. Twin spark plug technology actually makes use of double igniters to give more fuel efficiency. Now to re-launch the Flame DS 125cc, the TVS Motor Company uses a unique three-valve CC-VTi engine technology. The technology is further supported by the twin spark plugs ignition system.
Flame is the first and only bike with 3-valve and twin-spark plug technology. The new TVS Flame DS 125 comes with a price tag of Rs. 49,200 and it is just a little higher than the existent Flame. The bike is available in colours of red and black.
