      TVS to bring back the popular Victor model in India by December 2012

      TVS Motor Company, a Chennai based leading two-wheeler maker in the country, announced on Tuesday that it will re-launch its highest selling motorcycle Victor, in the Indian market, in December 2012. The TVS Victor was discontinued from the Indian auto market about four year back, when company had decided to replace it with Centra model. Besides Victor, the company will also launch three other products in the country during current calendar year. The other products include 125cc bike and a 125cc scooter. One more scooter will be launched by TVS, the details of which are yet to be revealed.

      Speaking to the reporters at the Delhi International Auto Expo 2012, TVS Motor Company President (Marketing) H S Goindi, said, "Victor is making a comeback. It was good brand for us and its brand equity is still very strong." He added, "At that point of time, we thought of trying out a new model, but now we believe that Victor still has a lot of customer demand."

      TVS is planning a capital expenditure of Rs 125 crore for the financial year 2012-13. The firm is also aiming to enhance its production capacity to about 32 lakh units with an additional investment of up to Rs 160 crore, by year 2013-14.
