Industry experts are of a view that with the presence of Triumph in the Indian market, auto enthusiasts will get to see an array of Triumph bikes being rolled out in the country. Sources have said that the auto maker might be introducing its few iconic models like Bonneville, Street and Speed Triple, supersports Daytona 675 and Rocket III in the country. However, it must be noted that all these models will be brought in the country in a phased manner. Also, it is also not yet disclosed by the company that how many official dealerships will start its innings in the Indian auto industry.

Auto analysts believe that Triumph might be keen towards skipping the import duty and therefore, will be going through the Completely Knocked Down (CKD) route. Sources further said that the auto company is currently busy in setting up a manufacturing plant in Narsapura, which is expected to become operational from 2015. Reportedly, in the initial stages, the company will be setting a small workshop at Manesar, wherein assembly of bikes will take place. Interestingly, the Indian website of Triumph Motorcycles is already operational. At its official website, the auto maker declared its future plans for the Indian auto market, saying that “Currently there are no Triumph dealerships open in India. We plan to have dealers operational and ready take bookings in Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore during 2013, followed by dealerships in Pune, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Chennai, Hyderabad, Cochin and Goa afterwards.”

In order to gain information about the Triumph motorcycles, interested individuals can contact the company officials at customer-enquiries-india@triumph.co.uk. Auto experts believe that post its launch, Triumph Motorcycles will square off against the likes of American bike maker Harley Davidson, which is currently ruling the performance oriented cruiser bike segment. It is being said that the launch of Triumph in India would be interesting as the battle between American and British brand would surely reap good options for the domestic buyers. It must be noted that both of these foreign brands are taking the Indian auto market seriously as its vast potential is still untapped.

Reports have suggested that in the initial stages, the British bike maker will be coming up with a sub-300 cc model for the mass audience. With the launch of this motorcycle, Triumph is planing to bring in high volumes, competing against the likes of BMW Motorrad and KTM, which both are also working on their small models. It is believed that the new sub-300 cc bike from will share credentials from Triumph Street Triple; however the technical specifications will vary.
