British motorcycle manufacturer Triumph had showcased its upcoming Indian motorcycle line up at the 2012 Delhi Auto Expo, but the company's plans have not materialised since then. This time, as per industry sources, Triumph has confirmed that it would be releasing its bikes in India by the third quarter of 2013. However, at present, no Triumph dealers have been appointed in the country. As per the company, new dealerships would be established in major cities soon.
Prices of Triumph motorcycles had been released back in 2012. These include Bonneville at Rs. 550,000, Street Triple at Rs. 575,000 and Daytona 675 at Rs. 700,000. Bikes with higher prices are Triumph Speed Triple at Rs. 8,00,000, Tiger 800XC at Rs. 11,40,000, Storm at Rs. 17,00,000 and Rocket III Roadster for Rs. 22,00,000. However, these prices were subject to the year 2012 and import duties have changed since then. It is also possible that models to be launched may also be subject to change.
The plans for launching Triumph motorcycles in the country slowed down due to some initial hurdles. But as these problems have now been sorted, the company now is thinking long term, possibly setting up a local assembly plant in Bangalore, to give competition to industry heavyweights, such as BMW Motorrad, Suzuki and Harley Davidson. This strategy would also help the company towards controlling the cost of its bikes.

As per recent news, special editions of best selling bikes Bonneville and Speed Triple have been launched. Technologies used in these mean machines has also been described in detail. The company has bikes in different categories such as Adventure, Classic, Cruisers, Roadsters, Touring and Supersports. It remains to be seen which of these would be launched in the Indian market.
