Toyota to launch Innova Crysta Touring Sport on May 4

By and large, Toyota Innova has been a leading player in the Indian market. Speaking of competition, Maruti Suzuki’s Ertiga has been the second strong player in the segment. In efforts to make things more interesting, Toyota plans to launch the Innova Crysta Touring Sport on May 4 in India. This latest addition to their line-up will not get any mechanical upgrades and changes will be limited to cosmetic upgrades. It will be similar to the Toyota Venturer which is sold in Indonesia. As for the Indian market, it will be based on the top-spec Crysta’s ZX variant and will be offered in a six-seat layout with captain seats in the second row.

Visually, the Touring Sport version of the Innova Crysta will be getting cosmetic upgrades in form of sporty body cladding on the bumpers, wheel arches and side skirts. The vehicle will get chrome element on the grille as well as the ORVMs. To up the sport quotient, the MPV might get smoked headlamps and 205/65 R16 tyres wrapped around blackened alloys. As for the interior, the Innova Crysta Touring Sport will get premium leather upholstery along with a touchscreen infotainment system and a TFT multi-information display. Moreover, the vehicle might also get Touring Sport embossed floor mats and other unique detailing.

Under the hood, the Innova Touring Sport might continue to be offered in petrol as well as diesel engine options. The petrol version might get a 2.7-litre engine which puts out 164bhp of power and 245Nm of torque, while the diesel version gets a 2.8-litre engine which puts out 172bhp of power and 360Nm of torque. No information has been put out regarding its pricing yet, but we believe it will cost an additional Rs 50,000-Rs 70,000 over the regular model.
