To help the driver better understand the information, graphics will be used to show how the changes will be accomplished. Additionally, the HUD system would also display other important bits of important data from connected car services or the navigation system like the speed limit for the road being used currently, and what’s coming ahead.

As of now, Toyota confirms that the HUD is the best bet they have as this system relays all the data on the windscreen. This also prevents the driver from looking away from the road to check out the status of the autonomous driving system. It is claimed that the system is even capable of informing the driver about the safety levels ofa the self-driving mode at any given point.

This helps the driver make an informed decision on whether to switch to self-driving mode, or not. With the current widespread concerns related to handing over all the controls to an autonomous vehicle, Toyota’s new tech offers some sort of relief. We will keep you posted about the happenings in this field. Do stay tuned to CarTrade.
